On the 11th day of February 1844 we sailed from Liverpool for New Orleans, U.S.A., on board the ship Isaac Allerton. Amongst the passengers I became acquainted with one Elizabeth McKay of Roseneath, Dumbartonshire, Scotland, daughter of Donald McKay and Mary McLean.
