. . . I left my native land to gather with the Saints on the 12th day of March 1842 [SIC]. I set sail in the ship Hanover from Liverpool England, had a pleasant voyage across the sea, though the diet &c was so much different. It took me some [-] to get to the fare to the [-], but after all I did not feel to murmur against the Almighty. Landed in Orleans the 25th day of April 1842. All took passage on a steam boat and landed at the city of Nauvoo the 15th day of May. . . . [p.8].
