. . . I, Jacob Peart, son of George Peart, was from England. Landed in America in the Spring of 1841 and came right up to Nauvoo. My wife took sick at New Orleans. Was very sick all the way up the river and only lived 3 weeks in Nauvoo. My oldest daughter, Ann, took sick about the time we landed at Nauvoo and did 5 days after her mother. My next daughter, Fanney, and youngest daughter, Marry died a short time after. [p.5]
