New York, June 20, 1889.President George Teasdale.
Dear Brother,--We arrived here last evening all well, with the exception of one or two who still feel the effects the seasickness. The weather was a little rainy and windy upon the sea, but not enough to cause any anxiety on our part. A good spirit prevailed among the Saints and elders, and no complaints can be offered. As regards the treatment upon the ship, those in charge were very kind, and did everything in their power to make us feel as comfortable as possible. The food was good and wholesome, and the sleeping apartments were kept in good order.
We passed Castle Garden all right, and set sail for Norfolk on board the S. S. "Roanoke" at 3 p.m., and expect to arrive there about 3 o'clock on the afternoon of June 21st. The "Roanoke" is a fine steamer, and everything is done to make us feel comfortable. Mr. Gibson, the agent, was present himself as the boat landed, and carried everything out in first-class order. An agent has been sent with us from New York, to see that everything is attended to properly at Norfolk.
All is well with us, and we all join in wishing you success and God's blessing in your labors. We remain your brethren in the gospel of Christ,
