"THIRD COMPANY OF THE SEASON. -- On Saturday we had the pleasure of witnessing the departure of another company of Saints for the land of Zion, on the S. S. Wyoming. The number, including all ages, was 609; of these there were 381 Danes, Swedes and Norwegians, from the Scandinavian Mission; 83 Swiss and Germans; 110 English; 18 Scotch and 17 Welsh. These, with the returning elders, made up a company of 622 souls. The missionaries returning are: W. N. Williams, Henry Flamm, J. A. Quist, W. Christensen, J. Anderson, J. C. Neilsen, J. Rolfsen, J. Christensen, J. Petersen, C. Olsson, O. F. Forssell, J. C. Lindberg, J. A. Ekman.
Shortly before the departure of the vessel a meeting, called by President Budge, was held in one of the saloons. Besides the president and the returning elders, already named, there were present on the occasion, Elders J. Nicholson, Francis Cope, N. C. Flygare, Joseph Bull, J. L. Bunting, W. Bramall, J. Rider, J. M. Wardle, J. C. Schofield, L. R. Martineau, W. Driver, J. Boyden, John Schofield, Scott Anderson, and others. Prayer was offered by Elder Bull. President Budge addressed the brethren, giving very valuable instructions, suited to the circumstances of the occasion. The work of affecting a general organization of the company was proceeded with, the following nominations for officers being unanimously sustained: for president, William N. Williams; first counselor, Henry Flamm; second counselor, John A. Quist; clerk, W. Christensen.
Appointments for chaplains and captains of the guard were also made, particulars concerning which will probably appear in a subsequent report from the clerk of the company.
Remarks were made by Elders J. Nicholson and N. C. Flygare. The meeting appeared to be greatly enjoyed by all present, the Spirit of the Lord being in the little assemblage. The closing prayer was offered by Elder Cope.
As usual Mr. Ramsden and his aids were indefatigable in their efforts to provide for the well being of the passengers, and the company were in fine spirits. Shortly before three p.m. the visitors got aboard the tender, waved an adieu to those whose faces were Zionward, at the same time wishing them a fervent 'God speed,' and the good ship Wyoming sped on with her cargo of precious souls."

". . . A company of emigrating Saints (331 souls) sailed from Copenhagen per steamship 'Cato,' bound for Zion, June 23, 1879, accompanied by the following elders returning to their homes in America: John Anderson Quist, Jons Anderson, Jacob Rolfsen, Otto E. William T. Christensen, Jens C. Nielsen, Jens Christensen, Carl Olson, Johan A. Ekman, Olof A. T. Forsell, Jonas E. Lindberg and John Petersen. President Nils C. Flygare accompanied the emigrants as far as England. After a successful voyage across the North Sea, they reached Hull, England, on the 26th, and were then conveyed by rail to Liverpool, where they, together with 145 British, 83 German and Swiss Saints, and two more returning missionaries, embarked on the steamer 'Wyoming,' which sailed from Liverpool June 28th, and arrived in New York, July 8th. The journey westward was continued by rail and the company reached Salt Lake City, July 16th. Elder William N. Williams was the leader of the company, with Henry Flamm and John A. Quist, as his assistants. The voyage across the Atlantic was stormy and many of the passengers were seasick. One infant died in New York, and an aged brother met with an accident to his leg while traveling by rail. Otherwise all went well with the company. . . ."
