New York, Oct. 17, 1889.President George Teasdale:
Dear Brother,--After twelve days' journey we have landed at New York all well. We had several days very bad weather, the 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th, when everybody was sick. Even the doctor on board was quite bad. Great waves rolled over the cabin smoking-room; but as God has heard our prayers, and blessed us with [p.700] beautiful weather since the storm, our sickness and troubles are all forgotten.
There were on board one Catholic, one Presbyterian and one Episcopalian minister. We had some interesting conversations with them, and a good impression was left upon them relative to "Mormonism."
Ever praying for your success, I remain your fellow servant,
J. A. Hendricksen. [p.701]
