S. S. Nevada, April 17, 1887.President George Teasdale,
Dear Brother,--The Saints are all well, except some slight seasickness. The night was quite calm, but this morning a slight motion is noticeable to some of our stomachs.
We called the brethren together last evening and appointed each a certain number of the Saints to look after and provide for their comfort and well-being, they having been organized, into wards, which, with the blessings of God, I believe will be quite an advantage.
The officers all treat us quite kind and are willing to assist us. We were successful in arranging the berthing all quite comfortable last night. 12:30 quite a land swell upon the water, very few at the table at present, some industriously feeding the fishes. In about forty minutes we expect to be at Queenstown. 2 p.m. All feel much relieved to come to a halt. More emigrants are coming on board.
With kind regards to all at "42" [42 ISLINGTON IS THE ADDRESS OF THE ENGLISH MISSION] and all Saints,
Your brother in the gospel,
