“Mr. Ramsden, shipping agent from Liverpool, had come to Glasgow [to] bid farewell to President [Anthon H.] Lund. A fine state room was given him on board the ship by Mr. Atkinson, of the Anchor Line Steamship Co. They entertained President Lund and party to dinner on board the ship at a table to themselves. Mr. Ramsden gave President Lunc several pictures of his deceased father, who had enjoyed the most friendly relations with President Lund. The ship started for America in the evening. The ship arrived sfely in New York August 3rd. Upon his arrival in New York President Lund went to mission headquarters and visited with the brethren Elder Samuel W. Richards was not in but Elder [BLANK SPACE] Watts received him and accompanied him to a Hotel. (A. H. Lund)” [BMMH, 1896].
