Elder Hugh Findlay sailed with seven Mormon converts from Bombay, India on the ship "Mary Spencer," (March 16, 1855) under the command of Captain Fisher. They arrived in Hong Kong on June 8, 1855. This same group then sailed from Hong Kong to San Francisco with a Captain Fisher.
