S.S. Arizona, off Queenstown, Sunday morning, Oct. 19th, 1879.President William Budge.
Dear Brother,--After bidding you and the brethren farewell yesterday, at Liverpool, we proceeded to look after the welfare and comfort of the Saints, by placing them in their proper berths, and attending to other little matters that would add to their convenience. After supper a meeting was called, in the steerage, for the purpose of completing the organization. The officers, as elected yesterday, were placed before the Saints and unanimously sustained.
The company was divided into two wards. Elder George Meldrum was appointed to preside over the first ward, and Elder William Ball the second. After a few practical and timely remarks by Elders Bramall, Bull and Watson, the meeting was closed.
The vessel speeds along smoothly [p.684] and swiftly, and thus far there is scarcely any seasickness.
With kind love to yourself, brothers Nicholson, Cope, and all engaged in co-laboring with you for the interest of our Father's work, we remain, your brethren in the gospel,
William Bramall, president.Joseph Bull, counselor.Andrew Watson, counselor.Walter J. Lewis, clerk. [p.685]
