"DEPARTURE OF EMIGRANTS. -- On Saturday, May 15th, the following small party of Saints left for New York, on their way to Utah, on the S. S. Wyoming: Peter Hood, Robert Calderwood, Andrew Mulholland, Adam Eccles, George Partington, Frances Partington. The brethren go out under agreement to work one year for the Central Pacific Coal and Coke Company, whose mines and works are in Sanpete County, Utah and who advanced the means for their passage. Elder Peter Hood was appointed to have the oversight of the little party on the journey."
