"I remember Sarah in Liverpool before we sailed," Mrs. Treharne declared, "But I didn't get acquainted with her until we were on the boat. It was the S. S. Curling, a rickety, squeaking old ship that leaked badly all the way over here. On the return trip it sank. There were about 800 passengers when we made the trip, who'd come from all parts of the old country. Sarah and I got real well acquainted after we left the railroad at Iowa City and crossed to Florence in wagons."
