"DEPARTURE OF EMIGRANTS. -- The fourth company of emigrating Saints for the present season sailed form Liverpool, on Wednesday, August 29th, per S. S. Nevada. There were 263 British, 282 Scandinavian and 106 Swiss and German emigrants, besides 29 returning missionaries, and two visitors, making in all 682 souls. The following are the names of the missionaries: Hyrum H. Evans, Henry Leyland, John England, James Hardy, George Fowler, Thomas Perkins, Edwin Spencer, J. C. Reader, George Brough, Hyrum Dewsnup, John Jenkins, John Binks, W. R. Kingsford, William Wright, Henry Goldsbrough and Henry Norman, from Great Britain; P. F. Goss, T. Bitter, P. Krogue, J. Lederman and A. Bisseger, from the Swiss and German Mission; Hans A. Hansen, Hans Anderson, Henry C. Jansen, J. C. Frost, A. L. Anderson, John N. Olson, Niels Larson and Frederick Peterson, from Scandinavia. The visitors were Mrs. and Miss Pixton, of Taylorsville, Utah. Elder P. F. Goss was appointed to take charge of the company, and set sail with every prospect of a favorable voyage."

". . . Another company of emigrating Scandinavian Saints (284 in number), the 64th company of emigrants from the Scandinavian Mission, left Copenhagen Aug. 24, 1883, on the steamer 'Bravo.' The following returning missionaries accompanied the emigrants: Hans A. Hansen (leader of the company), Hans Andersen, Anders L. Andersen, Jens C. Frost, Henrik C. Jensen, Frederik Peterson and John N. Olson. In the morning of Aug
. 27th the company arrived in Hull, England, and proceeded thence by rail to Liverpool. On the 29th the company, having embarked on the steamer the 'Nevada,' left the dock and anchored in the River Mersey. Here the company was organized for the voyage with Elder Peter F. Goss as president. The company was now composed of 264 British, 284 Scandinavian and 106 Swiss and German Saints and 28 returning missionaries. There were also 120 other passengers on board. The steamer brought its passengers safely to New York Sept. 7, 1883, and the Saints were then transported west by rail to Ogden and Salt Lake City, arriving there Monday, Sept. 17, 1883, all well. . . ."
