“Thursday, January 14. The steamship ‘Anchoria’ sailed from Glasgow, Scotland, 13 Saints on board, bound for Utah. The company consisted of 6 returning Elders, one missionary sister and 6 emigrating Saints (3 English and 3 Swiss). The returning Elders were John Reddington, A [BLANK SPACE] L. Keilholtz, Geo. [George] C. Naegle, Heber K. Merrill, Gottlieb Schweitz and J [BLANK SPACE] U. Buhler, accompanied by Sister Naegle, wife of Elder Geo. [George] Naegle. (Orig. Doc.)” [BMMH, 1897]. “Elder John Reddington . . . left London for home on the 8th of last month, having spent fourteen days on the water. The passage across the ocean was made on the Anchoria on the Anchor Line and was an exceedingly rough one, there being any amount of sea sickness on board.
