‘Thrusday, July 20 . . . Releases and Departures – The following named missionaries have been honorably released from their laborsin the British mission, and sailed for home July 20th, 1916, per s.s. ‘Kroonland’: Howard J Layton, Ernest M Greenwood, Willis S Thomas, Floyd W Nielson, Edward C Rawson, Verner O Hewlett, John E Bent, Charles L Pocock, Marion M Green, G Sanford Pincock, Vern R Ekins and William H Hillyard. A company of seven emigrants took passage on the same ship, in charge of Elders Ernest M Greenwood, Vern R Ekins and Howard J Layton. (Mill.Star, 78:479).” [BMMH,1916].
